I've been meaning to share these things for a while because I don't know what I'd do without them! I absolutely love love love them and use most of them every day.
L'oreal Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream- This stuff turns me into the pore-less wonder. It's amazing. And true to it's name, it contains magical beautifying properties. The minute after I used it for the first time, I threw away all my other foundations and primers away. You won't need them when you start using this. (HERE)
Urban Decay All Nighter Spray- This stuff magically keeps all your makeup in place FOR DAYS (If that's the way you roll.... I do not, but, if you do, this stuff is for you). I sometimes will apply my makeup around 6 a.m., spray this on, and by 9 p.m., nothing has changed. No creased eye shadow or mascara puddles, nothing!! It's a bit expensive, but entirely worth it. I payed $34 for the XL bottle (HERE) .
The Falsies Volume Express- This mascara is nuts. It truly makes you look like you're wearing false eyelashes. In a good way. I used this once and never looked back. (HERE)
Lip Smacker Strawberry- I have used this since I was 13 years old. I've tried a billion other lip products, but this is my all time favorite. And it smells amazing! (HERE)
Lip Smacker Girl Scout Cookie- A new find! And distant cousin of the strawberry lip smacker that I love so much. This one really actually smells like the shortbread girl scout cookie and is also amazing. ($1.99 Target)
I am a former chocolate fiend. Actually, I am a former sweets fiend. But I have kicked my sugar habit (with a little help from my pal, Stevia.), and as a result have lost 14 pounds and counting (I'll do a weight loss post sometime soon!). I no longer have super cravings or feel like I could commit crimes if I had to to get some chocolate :) But it makes me happy when I find recipes like this one and find out that I can still enjoy sweetness sometimes with no guilt and no pain (I'll go into that too in another post :).
So! Here is the simplest, yummiest, guilt-free Caramel Chocolate Mousse you've ever had! Enjoy!!!
3/4 Cup 2% Cottage Cheese
1 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
1/8 Tsp Caramel Flavoring
Stevia to taste
In a food processor (or in a bowl, using an immersion blender) combine all ingredients except stevia and blend until smooth. Then add a only a bit of stevia at a time until you've reached your preferred level of sweetness. Pair with your favorite chocolate friendly fruit!
** If you're not crazy about caramel you could also add a bit of vanilla in place of the caramel flavoring instead for a basic chocolate mousse. Or experiment with other flavors. I've just ordered cheesecake flavoring, eggnog flavoring and bacon flavoring from THIS website!!!!!
Lissy and Jenny came to visit (from NC) over Thanksgiving! We had loads of fun going into the city and watching the Thanksgiving sunrise over the Mayflower and drinking too much coffee and watching Christmas specials til all hours. And among our usual hijinks we fit in a makeover/ootd photo shoot! They are, for real, the fairest baby cousins in all the land.
I am pretty much in love with Tom Waits. He's one of my biggest inspirations as well as crushes. And this morning, what I'm listening to. I've found that the best way to listen to Tom (other than in my living room. live.) is on gloomier days with a cup of Earl Grey.
Good morning! Here is a very short outfit post (short post, not so much short outfit :) because I have ever so much to do today!
This is actually yesterday's outfit. Today's isn't much to look at. I look like I'm going trail running in the chilly autumn woods (which is, yes, entirely what I am doing).
But after that I have a fun tutorial to photograph and a ttv Christmas photo shoot for Christmas cards!
P.S. Just a heads up for all you thrifty folks who may have Saver's Thrift Stores in your neck of the woods... All shoes, clothes, bed and bath is 50% off with a savers club card tomorrow! I've been waiting for another one of these promotions for a while. I need some inexpensive, gently worn fashionable knitwear :)
Today was lovely. Lovely little 5 minute snowstorm, lovely knitting session, lovely beach visit.
I ended up going to the beach to knit, but it was about 50 degrees colder than I expected, so I sat in my car and knitted up some orders, listening to audio books and seagulls and drinking pumpkin coffee!
