Moonrise Kingdom Cove Adventure

It's no secret, I am pretty obsessed with the film Moonrise Kingdom. And on Sunday after getting SUPER lost and finding myself somewhere in Rhode Island, a lightbulb went off in my head. I knew the film was filmed in RI and as RI is the size of my backyard, I looked up WHERE exactly, and found I was only 10 minutes from the cove!!!! So, of course, I went and did a little exploring!
Pretty sure it is some sort of magical too. While I was standing there looking over the water a hawk swooped down in front of me and just sat there. WITH me. And while I was exploring the rest of the park a deer walked up a few feet from me and also just stood there (Magic=Rabies?)!! ALSO found the biggest, most beautiful chunk of sea glass I've ever found. IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!

  5. Hello! I'm so glad I've found your blog :) I liked the story of how you found yourself there. Fate maybe?. When I met my girlfriend 2 years ago and she told me she was a huge Wes Anderson fan, I knew she was the one for me! haha

I am writng you to say that I enjoyed your post, but was also hoping you could help me with something...

I live in Southern California and I am planning a secret trip to this "magical" cove in September of this year. I am surprising my girlfriend by whisking her away to Boston for a ball game at Fenway Park, then the next morning a drive down to Jamestown, RI where I'd like to find this cove (from the movie), and propose to my girlfriend there :)

I have never visited this part of the country. I have been wanting to find a local person or someone who has actually been there to ask a few basic questions about this place. Where it is ACTUALLY located, if it's crowded there, etc.

Would you be willing to correspond with me via email? I'd love someone who's actually been there to answer a few my my questions... I'd really appriciate it. My name is Danny. My email address is noworries4thisguy@gmail.com. Thanks! I look forward to hearing from you :)
